Through immigration and I set off the scanner, first time and nothing that I had should have caused it, I did tell them that I had titanium in my head! Then they searched the binoculars and chargers, so while you don't have to put liquids into plastic bags, they must have the equipment set at a higher level than we are used to.
Onto Heathrow, and immigration. This time we were questioned about our length of stay. He seemed satisfied that we were visiting relations in Scotland, and stamped our passports after writing all sorts of notes on our travel card.
John had researched transport from Heathrow and chose Hummingbird Cars. Goodness knows were we went, but everywhere there are cranes and building work being done. Finally we arrived at 35 Kerslake Rd Queens Park, to meet Duncan and Barbara. They were having family for lunch, and while she was busy cooking she managed to set off the alarms twice.
Upstairs again, the house has been well done. The breakfast selection is extensive and varied. I managed to lock my phone cause I didn't read the instructions in full, so I had to email Australia Post, who were so helpful, and quick. I had to make a call to test it, so I surprised my Scottish aunt Patricia. I think my call was unexpected, but welcomed after we both got over the fact that we both had an accent! I kept wondering if my father spoke as she did!
Then I did another regroup of our luggage, Don't think I will have a need for any lightweight clothing for the next outlet of days. Four loads of washing to do over the coming week. After a snooze John worked out the transport and where we need to go to catch a bus, as our travel card begins tomorrow.
Walking right from our street is Queen's Park. To the left they were filming an episode of Lewis. We walked through the park and up to the main shopping area. We decided on a Pub for dinner, but at £28 for a steak each, changed our minds a got fish and chips instead. One serving did both of us, cod and chips and so huge.
I usually check out the real estate windows, and there were a couple that took our fancy £20,000,000 for a four bed, or rent at £3000 per month, some were cheaper at around £1 mil, but it must have been an affluent area which now is cosmopolitan

€405 is currently $A600. My son paid that and more for genuine Holden 18" alloys for his car so the price is probably OK. Just claim it on your travel insurance as accident excess. I bet it's nice being in a "civilised" country where most (but not all) people speak English. Mick & Lyn
